Where Will The Animals Go?
Why does my website begin with this question?
Those five words belong to my mother, and they’ve stayed with me ever since.
For nearly 10 years, our neighborhood fought off developers who wanted to build behind our street. She wasn’t thinking about property lines or building plans. She was thinking about the wildlife that had nowhere else to go.
I’m Debbie Tremblay, founder of Endangered Species Heroes, and I’ve been asking that question ever since. Those four simple words resonate not only in our own communities, but across the globe as well.
My own spark for wildlife began in the woods of Connecticut, where I spent my childhood exploring trails and discovering animals that wandered through our backyard.
Over time, that curiosity grew into something deeper. Even during the busiest years of raising a family, it never left me. With every visit to a zoo or sanctuary, my awareness grew along with a desire to understand more and do more.
My journey deepened the moment I met Logan, an endangered white rhino at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That encounter didn’t just amaze me, it changed me. I realized that wonder is where awareness begins, and awareness is where heroes are made.
I may not be a zoologist, but I am passionate about learning, and I would love to invite you on this journey. Because every conservation story needs a beginning, and every great expedition needs a guide.
